NURTURING RESILIENCE IN TODAY'S WORLD THROUGH OUR MEAL PROJECT,

DELIVERED ACROSS PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN MITCHAM

.

What is BRITE Box?

It is a weekly activity that includes a meal recipe kit with all ingredients provided. This enables families to prepare and eat a different balanced meal together each week. It is bringing families together around food in the home sparking joy and interest in cooking & healthier eating. It provides children (and adults!) with key cooking skills and the self-confidence to use them

.

How does it work?

The boxes are packed and distributed from the Sherwood Park Hall's Community Hub to your schools on the Friday afternoons. to be received before school pick up.

The boxes are small therefore easy to carry and contain enough food to prepare a meal for a family of five

.

Each school will receive boxes for one year group who are on free school meals and can the project can be linked to learning outcomes as a means of de-stigmatising the receipt of food for a family.

BRITE Box also encourages parent participation within learning at home and at the end of the project the class could come up with a menu for Brite Box to use in the future.

.

We are always looking for volunteers to sign up for our Brite Box community, a fun group of people that really enjoy what we do

Gloves and Aprons will be provided please sign up and register to volunteer using this link
