Everyone at Sherwood Park Hall & The Sherwood Cubs Team have been providing holiday clubs for the past 3 years and are also proud supporters of The Government of Merton's Holiday Activity and Food programme for children and young people aged 5-11 year old. The programme has provided healthy food and enriching activities to disadvantaged children since 2018 and will cover will cover the Easter, summer, Halloween and Christmas holidays

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE FREE HAF VOUCHERS
Local authorities are asked to ensure that the offer of free holiday club provision is available for all children eligible for and in receipt of free school meals in their area.The free holiday club places must be targeted at children who are eligible for and receiving benefits-related free school meals.
The local authority may provide places for children who are considered as vulnerable or in need of this provision. Consent will need to be given directly from Merton council, this may include, for example:
• Children assessed as being in need
• Looked-after children
• Children with an EHC plan (education, health and care)
• Children assessed as otherwise vulnerable
• Children living in areas of high deprivation
We also make the holiday clubs available to any children not eligible for and in receipt of free school meals, who can pay to attend.

If your child is more into the arts, we have plenty of options for them too. From painting and drawing to pottery, our arts and crafts activities will give your child a chance to explore their creative side.
We also offer trips to local attractions, where your child can learn about history, culture, and nature. Our nature days are particularly popular, as they provide a chance for your child to get up close and personal with the great outdoors.
For kids who love science, we have a range of STEM activities that will spark their curiosity and imagination. Our science experiments are hands-on and engaging and will help your child learn about the world around them.

SAFETY
The safety and welfare of our children is of paramount importance for our Sherwood Cubs. Our venue is risk assessed by staff on a daily basis and staff are trained to identify any hazards.
Our staff can be identified by their light blue tops that are clearly marked with the company’s name and logo. Staff will be aware of each child’s location, whether they are playing outside or relaxing inside we will regularly conduct regular head counts.
When your child is collected at the end of a session you will be greeted by a member of staff who will identify you from the list of collectors you have provided on your child’s details. Any collector not known to the staff will be asked to provide photo ID. Please note if a person arrives to collect a child and they are not on the list we will be unable to allow the child to leave without speaking to the person who made the booking. This is to ensure we only ever let children leave with an approved person.
